My name is Katy Rawson. I was born February 20th. What this basically means is that I’m a 27 year old Pisces. Please, don’t forget my birthday!

I’m a Work at Home (WAHM) to my daughter, Zadey Jade born September 18, 2005.

At home, my official title is “home maker.” This means I’m usually in charge of the debate of what’s for dinner and can recommend excellent cleaning products for that film on your bathtub!

My life has taken me to live many places, Lemoore, CA; Bakersfield, CA (my “hometown”), and Las Vegas, Nevada. I fell in love with Las Vegas, moved out here, and now call myself a “lifer.”

And though I usually skip it with an introduction, I am lesbian. Which means that from time to time, my blogging comes from a place of equality, freedom, and political stances that love is for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation.

Business

Prior to obtaining my title as Wife and Mom, I worked as a Jr. Broker for Salmon Smith Barney. Ah yes, when I thought the numbers game was fun and that stocks and bonds were for me.

They weren’t.

I left Salmon Smith Barney and became a funding assistant for a mortgage company in California. I really loved that job but the problem was that it was in California and I was moving to Las Vegas. A job transfer just wasn’t possible.

These days, I spend a great deal of my time consulting to bloggers just starting out or looking to grow their blog’s audience and designing custom WordPress themes for many different clients, small and large bloggers. My passion however lies with writing and getting the time to pound out articles on topics I enjoy thinking or learning about.

Blogging

I have to say that I fell in love with blogging around 2002 when I setup my first blog on LiveJournal with the influence of a friend of mine. Since then, I have blogged on and off with no real purpose.

My first niche blog, I’m Blogging That was born in January 2006 as a personal blog. When I wanted to settle on a niche blog, I started sharing my fascination about blogging and my interest in it. However, even with all this talk about “blog about blogging,” I never gave up my real interest in blogging about life, giving advice, sharing experience, and discussing topics that I believe we all have to deal with at one point or another.

And though I have sold I’m Blogging That, it’s only because my passion drove me to another place and another blog… this one.

Opinions

All of my adult life I have yet to run into a situation where I didn’t have an opinion. And it’s become common knowledge with friends and family that I stand by my opinions and happily share them, especially when asked.

When a comment was made to me one day that I should open an advice column, I acted. It seemed to be a good fit to mix my mouth with my passion for writing. What came from that is Unedited Life. Not only a place to get my opinion but for me to share my thoughts on life, love, passion, careers, and the world as I see it.

You don’t always have to agree with me, in fact I welcome views from another stand point.
